Privacy Policy
Nestlight is a private couples app for exactly two people. This policy explains what information Nestlight processes, why it is needed, who can see it, and how you can delete it.
Information we process
Identity and relationship information
Nestlight creates a random app identity and stores only a hash of its authentication token on our server. We also process the names you provide, your pairing relationship, anniversary, relationship type, countdown dates, distance-unit preference, and shared customization choices.
Content you share
We process the photos, doodles, shared-canvas content, reactions, timeline entries, personal Lock Screen notes, and Time Capsules that you choose to share. This content is available to your paired partner as required for the feature. Sealed Time Capsule content is withheld from the receiving partner until its opening time.
Location
Location sharing is optional and off by default. If you enable it, Nestlight sends your device's current coordinates to our server so it can calculate the distance between you and your partner. Your coordinates are never returned to your partner or displayed on a map; only the calculated distance is shared. During an On My Way session, location updates happen more frequently so the Live Activity can update. Turning location sharing off deletes your stored coordinates.
Device, notification, and purchase information
We process Apple Push Notification and Live Activity tokens to deliver partner activity and trip updates. Apple and RevenueCat process subscription purchases; Nestlight receives subscription identifiers and entitlement status so one subscription can unlock Premium for the paired couple. We do not receive or store your payment-card details.
How we use information
- Provide pairing, syncing, widgets, notifications, shared moments, distance, trips, Time Capsules, and Premium access.
- Protect the service, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and enforce upload and request limits.
- Respond to support, privacy, and deletion requests.
Nestlight does not sell personal information, run third-party advertising, or use your information to track you across other companies' apps and websites.
Who receives information
Your paired partner receives the content and relationship information you intentionally share through the app, plus calculated distance when both people enable location sharing. We also use service providers only to operate Nestlight:
- Cloudflare for application hosting, database, and private media storage.
- Apple for App Store purchases, push notifications, and Live Activities.
- RevenueCat for subscription status and purchase-management infrastructure.
We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.
Storage and retention
Shared relationship data is kept while it is needed to provide the service. Turning location sharing off removes your stored coordinates immediately. Deleting individual content removes it from the active service. Unpairing dissolves the shared couple space and deletes its server-side shared content. Account deletion removes your app identity and, if paired, dissolves and deletes the shared couple space.
Backups, security records, or records required by law may remain for a limited period before deletion. Your partner may already have saved or screenshotted content you shared; Nestlight cannot delete copies outside its service or from another person's device.
Your choices and rights
- Control location sharing from Nestlight Settings and iOS Settings.
- Delete supported moments, timeline entries, capsules, and other content in the app.
- Unpair without your partner's permission.
- Delete your account in Nestlight under Settings → Delete my account.
- Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple ID subscription settings.
Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of personal information. Contact us to make a request. We may need to verify that the request belongs to you.
Children
Nestlight is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can delete it.
International processing and security
Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect private relationship content, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Nestlight changes. We will publish the updated date here and provide additional notice when a material change requires it.
